Finding Time to Run a Successful Online Business?

Over 90% of online marketers run there business on a part-
time basis. In other words, they have a regular 9-5 JOB and
then try to run their online business in their spare time.

Trouble is, most people find it very difficult to juggle
the time they have to spend on their business, with the
time they need to spend with their families or their other
commitments.

This can be very frustrating and judging by the emails I
receive from the average marketer, most people simply can’t
find the right balance – and in the end – they give up.

The secret to finding the right balance is focus.

While you may have more time than money, and as a result
you’re prepared to do things yourself rather than pay
someone to do it for you…

…your time is extremely valuable to you so you need to
be as efficient as possible to ensure you are getting a
high return on your time investment.

The most effective way to do this is to allocate a set
amount of time each day to concentrate on ONE specific

I have found that allocating a maximum of 45 – 50 minutes
for eack task is most effective. Anything longer than this
and you begin to lose concentration and you become less
efficient with your time.

So start today by determining what tasks need to be
carried out in your own business, and then develop a
weekly time schedule/plan to complete each task.

Do this and you’ll be surprised at the huge improvement
with your results.

How to Find Hot Ideas to Write About!

Every had trouble tying to a subject to write about or to
find an idea for a product?

There is one other way that you can find sizzling hot
subjects to write on – and they’re as close as your
competitors sales pages.

This is a technique I picked up from the Rhodes Brothers,
and it’s a great one. These guys are pure genius!

Did you know that you can actually find hot subjects just
by looking through the “bullet points” on sales pages
across the Internet?

It’s 100% true!

I know you’ve probably seen at least one sales page
online, but have you bothered to really look closely at
what’s there? You can find all sorts of things to write
about based on the information found within just one sales
page.

And there’s no set length on how long or short your
information product has to be.

It can be a short 3 page “special report” or it can be a
super lengthy 200 page informational guide. It all depends
on what you want to do and how you want to present
information to your readers.

Let’s examine this concept further by following our
example subject matter.

Here’s a really good sales page that gives you plenty of
ideas on successfully handling unwanted behavioral

Focus in on the Headline text first.

Do you see any ideas flying out at you?

How about these:

Those are pretty darn good. And we swiped those ideas just
from the main headline text!

Let’s go a bit deeper down the page and see if anything
else springs out at us…

If you go further on down you will see the real money
makers inside the “bullet point” list.

Here’s what I found inside it:

“Specific Reasons Why Kids Do The Things They Do”
“The One Critical Parenting Error Most People Make”
“Positive Action Steps To Stop Unacceptable Behavior”
“Understanding Manipulation”
“Most Powerful Technique To Eliminate Whining”

And there’s a few more I didn’t list. But that’s a great

Obviously I changed some of the wording, but the base
ideas are still prominent as you can clearly see from the
list above.

You can effectively do this for any sales page covering
any subject. And you could even come up with other ideas
that aren’t even listed in the sales letter just by being
inspired by the ideas that are there!

Do You Know Who Your Customers Are?

One of the biggest obstacles that most people face in
starting their own internet business is…

…Information Overload!

There are just so many products out there it’s very
difficult to make a choice as to which product, method,
strategy, business model, etc best suits your needs.

To many choices results in over complicating things to the
point where you just don’t know which way to turn, or what
to do next.

What you need to do first is to go back to basics and
analyze your REAL needs. You need to determine exactly what
it is you NEED in order to make money online.

Now take a few moments to write down what it is you think
you need most to begin generating an online income?

I can only imagine some of the things you thought you
might need. You probably have a bunch of things listed in
front of you – but when you strip it down to the very
basics there is only ONE thing you really need…

…Customers!

You see. You don’t need to make things more complicated
than they really are.

Yes. Stuff like a website, products, a list, webhosting,
sales copy, etc ‘contribute’ to the process of making
money. But when all is said and done, unless you have
customers you aren’t going to make a single cent.

So the first step you need to take is to work out exactly
WHO is your customer. WHO exactly is your target audience.

Until you can answer this question, everything else is
simply a distraction.

However, once you know this, then – and only then – can
you begin to develop a plan on the best methods to reach
them.

Do you know who your customers are? Can you sit down right
now and write down an outline of who it is you’re targeting?

If you can’t then you need to stop whatever you are doing
and go back to basics!

How Bonuses Can Actually Decrease Sales!

Adding value to your product (or affiliate product) is an
excellent strategy. But if you put a dodgey bonus together,
or do this in the wrong way, you can devalue your offer so
much that it becomes worthless. Simple as that.

So here’s a general rule of thumb for you.

If you’ve really thought about it, dug about and tried to
find something to add in as a good worthwhile bonus, but
you honestly can’t find anything that fits the bill, go
with nothing.

No bonuses are better than one that turns your potential
customers away.

If you go over the top with hypey bonuses that aren’t
really offering any REAL value, you’ll begin losing your
potential customers. So it’s better to go with none and
save your credibility from taking a hammering.

Your bonus doesn’t have to be tangible. It doesn’t have to
be an ebook, it doesn’t have to be a piece of software.
Open your mind a little and think about other things you
could offer to people along with your product.

Are you respected in your field of expertise? How about a
free one hour, no strings phone or video consultation, or
even a follow-up consultation to see how they’ve done with
the product you’ve just sold them?

This isn’t such a hard thing to implement if you have the
knowledge. Just be careful not to try to give 100 people a
free two hour consultation every week.

It doesn’t matter what you’re selling, you can use this
method somewhere, whether it’s an hour free technical
support, or a free 30 minute confidence builder to
compliment your main product. It’s totally up to you.

Just remember to keep it real!

How Can You Help Me?

If you have been researching or involved in online business
for very long, you have no doubt seen a multitude of offers
for ebooks, reports, audios and training courses on every
subject imaginable.

Why? Because information is the hottest product on the
market!

Information cuts straight to the root of all selling,
which is answering the customer’s question: “What will this
product do for me?”

There’s another reason, though. Pure information is a
product that doesn’t require a huge financial overhead to
produce, (other than the hard knocks you got in gaining the
experience and information)…

…and is easy and relatively low cost to deliver to the
customer. That is what makes it such a great product for
us, as entrepreneurs, to offer.

Everyone has life experience, training, and skills that
others don’t have. Everyone knows something that others
want to know, or can do something that others want to
learn.

That’s how I know you have an InfoProduct inside you,
everyone does. So your first task is to decide which of
your many gifts you are going to offer to the world!

Does that mean you have to be able to write a book?
Not necessarily. I’m more talking about what is known as
USP… Unique Selling Position.

Your USP might be that you have detailed knowledge about
someone else’s product that you are selling as an
affiliate.

It could be that humorous way you present the information
you have collected on some subject of interest, or the fact
that you offer the best customer service available for the
service you offer.

You may even offer the same products that others are also
selling, but find your own unique market for them. Whatever
you decide to use for your information product, your USP,
you need to find one.

If you were to research the online marketers who are
making the money they claim to be earning online, you would
discover that they all have a USP.

You may, of course, actually write a book, ebook, or
training course and sell it. Many are making good money
doing just that. The list of helpful software and online
publishers is growing every day.

But even if you write your own product or design your own
software, you will still need a well thought out USP to
stand out in the crowd. It’s like your business plan — you
need a firm foundation before you can build your future
online success.

5 Tips to Double Your Email Open Rates!

It seems that one of the biggest problems a lot of people
are having is getting their readers to open emails.

Hey, you can be promoting the best product on the
internet, and have the most compelling cash sucking email
copy of all time…

…but if you haven’t got a compelling subject lines that
get the emails open, it all counts for nothing.

So today I’d like to give you five tips for writing
effective email subject lines that could DOUBLE the open
rates on your next email.

#1: Use personalization for added attention!

Studies have proven that personalized subject lines that
contain the name of your readers can get almost TWICE as
many people to open your email.

Ever been in a large crowd and you suddenly hear your name
being called?

Even if they’re not talking to you, you still
automatically look up without even thinking – right?

That’s because hearing your name instantly gets your
attention!

Well, sending out an email with a personalized subject
line is the equivalent of calling someone’s name in a
crowd. It has that same power to grab their attention.

#2: Keep your subject lines SHORT!

In my testing, subject lines that are under 35 characters
have much higher opening rates than those with subject
lines longer than 35 characters.

So keep it short and sweet!

You don’t need to explain in detail what the email is
about in the subject line, you just need to create a sense
of urgency or make people curious enough to entice them to
open the email. For example…

Jim, I’m calling it quits.

or…

Is this yours David?

This way, if someone’s email program cuts off the end of
the subject line (which is pretty common) you’ll still get
your message across.

#3: Avoid using all UPPER CASE words!

If you sent an email to a friend, asking them if they
wanted to go out, would you type your subject line like
this…

What are you doing tonight?

Or like this…

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT?

Good chance you wouldn’t use the subject line with the
capitalization because it’s ‘in your face’ and less
‘friendly’. So why would your emails to your readers have
subject lines formatted like that?

The more your subject lines look like personal emails from
friends or family members, the more effective they will be
and the more likely it is they will be opened.

So avoid capitalizing each word (or the entire subject
line) to increase your chances of getting your messages
opened and read by your readers.

#4: Use a compelling “benefit” to gain interest!

A powerful approach to get your emails opened is to
include a major benefit that your readers will recieve when
they read your email.

If you can tell them how they’re going to save money, save
time or make their lives easier by reading your message,
you’ll have the most success. For example… Here’s a $97
gift for you Andy.

And if you can, make sure you put your most important
benefit at the beginning of the subject line. This will
increase your open rates even further.

#5: Your subject line relates to your content!

No-one likes to be fooled or tricked, so make sure your
subject line is highly related to the message of your email.

If your subject line says… “Alex, make $260 in 3 hours”,
you need to ensure you actually discuss how they can do
this – and preferably within the first few paragraphs.

If you fail to do this your visitors will feel let down
and cheated, and they will be less likely to open your next
email.

If you follow these simple tips you should be able to
increase your open rates by up to 50% and earn even more
income promoting of your favorite products.

What Was Your Biggest Mistake?

Let me first start by asking this question…

How successful was your business in the past year? Did you
reach the income goals you expected.

What about your mistakes. What was your biggest mistake
over the course of the last 12 months?

Now be honest with yourself!

Did you spend too much money on a project that flopped?

Did you spread yourself too thin? Did you try to start too
many projects at once? Was it a lost opportunity?

Did you jump from one project to the next – without giving
each of them a chance to work?

As an online marketer you have opportunities coming at you
left, right and center. They are everywhere. And it’s only
natural that you want to be able to take advantage of as
many of those opportunities as you can.

Unfortunately this creates a lack of focus – and this
often results in a massive decrease in your efficiency…
and profits.

Without question, the best thing you can do for your
business is to focus on one major project at a time until
you’ve got that portion of your business churning out the
level of profits you’re comfortable with – ideally on
autopilot.

Only then should you move onto the next project.

Regardless of what your biggest mistake was in the last
year, it’s important that you learn from the mistakes you
have made.

Without mistakes, there is little opportunity to learn the
important lessons.

Instead of beating yourself up about your biggest mistake,
sit down and think about what you can do to make sure you
don’t repeat the same mistake again.

Look at that mistake as a learning experience, and let it
motivate you to make improvements in your business or your
personal life.

Have You Hugged Your Customer Today?

I’m not just being mushy! I don’t mean literally. What I am
saying is customer appreciation is the best way to create
customer loyalty. Good customer service is the surest path
to success in any business.

Lets face it without customers your business is dead.
Repeat customers are the life blood of any business. It’s
a proven fact that happy customers make repeat purchases and
not only that they tell all their friends. Which means more
customers.

Tell me…

When your happy or excited about a product or service what
is the first thing you do? You tell every on you know.
Right? If you have a great experience with the staff at a
store or restaurant what do you do? You go back again!

What if you have a bad experience? Do you go back? NO!
and that’s not the end you make sure you tell everyone you
know you had a hard time and never, NEVER to use that
company.

Have you ever walked into a store and been snubbed, totally
ignored at the check out? What to you do? You walk out
with out making a purchase.

Now, how many times have you walked into a store with no
intention of making a purchase. You were greeted by a
friendly face and a warm courteous atmosphere, then you
end up walking out with a bag full of goodies.

It’s happened to all of us :-)

Good customer service will never go out of style. It’s so
simple but it is where most business fail.

Show your customers that you appreciate them. It’s the
little things that matter. Like a friendly voice and
prompt courteous service. Going that extra mile to make
them feel special. You can create a huge following of loyal
customers just by being nice.

But don’t stop there. The possibilities are endless.

Have you ever been to a nice hotel where they leave a
chocolate on your pillow?

Now that chocolate only cost them a few pennies but it
made your experience nicer. It made you remember their
hotel above others.

How about customer reward programs. Sales will soar when you
tell your customers that they will get one free after they
purchase three. A free gift with every purchase. Every one
likes presents.

What about customer appreciation days, sales and specials.

Hold an event throw a party just for customers that you
have done business with before. Make them feel special,
like they matter, that they are important to you. Then
watch your business reap the rewards.

Blogging Basics – Managing Multiple Blogs!

In todays lesson we are going to go over some tips for
managing multiple blogs.

While some bloggers may focus exclusively on only one blog
at a time, there are many bloggers who manage to maintain
several different blogs at one time.

However, not all bloggers are able to do this successfully.

Some bloggers compromise their content quality (as well as
quantity) trying to maintain too many blogs. Yet other
bloggers have the ability to keep several blogs up to date
with relative ease.

There are a few key elements to maintaining multiple
successful blogs and in this lesson we will go over some
of them.

(Including keeping content original, keeping blogs up
to date and budgeting your time to work on each blog)

First we’ll go over keeping your content original.

When you take on the challenge of maintaining multiple blogs
you must be careful to keep the content of each blog
unique and fresh.

This will help to prevent your blog visitors from feeling as
though the information they are receiving is not original.

It will also help to prevent readers who frequently visit
one or more of your blogs from deciding to start only
visiting one of the blogs because they feel the postings
are ‘stale’.

Now let’s talk about how you can keep each blog up to date.

When you are managing multiple blogs you should take care to
post to each blog on a regular basis.

Doing this will help you avoid problems which stem from
blog visitors feeling as though the blogs are stagnant.

Even the most interesting and informative blogs can lose
traffic quickly if the blog visitors do not see new content.
Keep in mind that the internet is continually evolving and
updating. As a result blog readers can afford to be
finicky and are not likely to remain dedicated to a blog
that does not post fresh and relative information regularly.

They will simple begin to search elsewhere for information
they are seeking.

Finding the time to work on each blog can also be a huge
challenge. Particularly if your run your blog in your
‘spare time’.

When you maintain several blogs you are often faced with
the dilemma of finding time to devote to each blog.

However, this is very important because you cannot afford
to neglect one or more of your blogs. Doing this for even a
short time can result in a marked decline of traffic to
your blog.

Therefore it is extremely important that you budget your
time carefully to ensure that you can dedicate sufficient
time to each blog.

This time management exercise may start out by assessing
the needs of each blog. Some blogs may require a great deal
of time and effort each week to keep the blog functioning
properly while other blogs may require only a small amount
of time for the same purpose.

In general, blogs which require a great deal of research
will require more time and energy than blogs which are
based on your opinions and feelings and are therefore not
as research intensive.

Once you have determined how much time it will be required
to maintain each blog, you can schedule your time
accordingly.

You should plan to take time, every so often to evaluate
how well each of your blogs are operating. And way you can
make any adjustments to the schedule that may be needed.

Additionally, you may also need to make a decision to
eliminate one of your blogs or enlist assistance in keeping
your blogs updated if necessary.

When it comes to managing multiple blogs, time management
is the key. Just be sure to include enough time in your
schedule so that each of your blogs gets the required
amount of attention that it takes to be successful.
