How to Edit Your Videos Using Windows Movie Maker!

Windows Movie Maker (WMM) is the editing software that I
use to edit all of my videos. Windows movie maker is free
and comes preinstalled on all windows operating systems.

If you are currently using a windows operating system you
can locate Windows Movie Maker by going to ‘Start,’ ‘All
Programs,’ ‘Accessories,’ and then ‘Windows Movie Maker.’

WMM is not a particularly advanced piece of software and
it does not allow for very sophisticated special effects.
However, for purposes of video marketing, WMM has all of
the functionality you need and is also very, very easy to
learn and use.

Among other things, you can use WMM to add music,
transitions, and credits to your videos.

Once you have completed your video, the only thing you
really need to add to your videos are credits at the
beginning and end of your video which is where you will
place your URL.

To add credits to your video using WMM open up WMM and
then select the .wmv version of your video.

Then click on “Make Titles or Credits” in the left hand
column under “Edit Movie.” Select “Title at the Beginning”
and later “credits at the end.”

Type in a quick message as well as your URL into the space
provided, then change the text and font to the color
combination of your choice.

Next select “change title animation” and then select the
animation that best fits your video. Repeat this process
for the end credits.

Once your video is added to WMM your video will be
displayed in several frames.

To add these frames to the storyboard simply click on
“edit” and “select all” and then right click and select
“copy.” Then right click the first frame of the storyboard
and select “paste.”

The video frames will then appear in chronological order
in your timeline.

After you have added your beginning and end credits to
your video as well as pulled the different frames into the
storyboard, you can then shorten the length of your credits.

I do this because I think the standard credit length is
just a bit longer than what most viewers want to see.

To shorten the length of the credits click on “show
timeline” in the space above the storyboard and then select
the one of the credits. A line should appear in the frame
you want to edit.

By moving this line to the left you can then shorten the
frame length. The further you move the line to the left the
shorter the frame will be. I usually shorten the credits to
2 seconds for the opening credits and 3 seconds for the end
credits.

After you have finished editing your movie, click on
“file” and then “save project.” This will save the project
in WMM format so you can come back later and edit the file
as it.

To save the file as an actual movie file select “file” and
then “save movie file.” This option will save the file in
the original .wmv format, which is the version you will be
uploading to the different video sites.

5-Step Plan – Finding a Profitable Niche!

In the last lesson we touched on the 3 ideal things you
need to look for in a profitable niche market:

1. Longevity
2. High demand
3. Profitability

Today we’re going to disucss these in detail.

1. Longevity:

Niche markets with longevity are what I like to refer to
as Evergreen. In other words, they’re somewhat timeless.

They’re not just a passing fad that will be gone in six
months or a year. They have longevity and demand will be
around for years to come. You don’t want to focus on niches
that are short-term.

For example, promoting a product such as PlayStation 3
(PS3) has short-term demand. Once new technology is
released this product becomes virtually obsolete and you’re
customer base quickly diminishes.

However, focusing on the photography niche could be very
profitable.

People in this niche are passionate about their hobby and
are usually long-term enthusiasts that will be involved in
this market for a long time. So you will always have a
highly targeted customer base.

This means that once you’ve established yourself in a
particular Evergreen market like this, you can continue
profiting from them for many years to come.

2. High Demand:

Secondly you need to ensure your niche market has a high
demand. It needs to be “hot” with a ready supply of people
who are searching for products or services relating to your
niche.

You can determine the demand of your niche by performing
some simple online market research that can be done for
free.

Go to www.google.com and search for the main keywords
relating to the market you are researching.

Here you are looking for two things. The number of search
results and how many Google Adwords advertisements are in
the far right hand column.

The list of Google Adwords ads represents the advertisers
who are paying to advertise the keyword you searched on.
Most are advertising an affiliate product or their own
website that sells a product related to your keyword
phrase.

If there is a list of advertisers regularly filling the
page, then chances are this is a popular niche. Advertisers
won’t continue to spend money unless they were getting a
solid return.

You can confirm high demand by checking the number of
keyword searches for the main keyword phrase for your niche
market to ensure there is enough demand.

Simply go to the Google Keyword tool at
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and
insert your main keyword phrase and see how many searches
are performed each month for various keywords in this niche.

For example, if you were researching the “crocket” niche,
you would search for the term “crochet” (which by the great
longevity) and you will find that there is an average of
368,000 searches per month for the term “crochet patterns”.

This tells us that there is a huge demand in this niche
and it would definitely be advisable to some further
research to determine if was worth targeting this niche.

But there is one more step you need to do before you start
promoting to this niche market… Profitability!

Unfortunately we’re run out of space to discuss this

determining if your niche is profitable before taking it
to Step #2 of the plan.

Traffic Basics – How to Find the Best Keywords!

In the last lesson we talked about the importance of
keyword density. Today we’re going to talk about keyword
research and tools that you can use to find the best
keywords and phrases.

When you are doing your keyword research is the good rule
of thumb to choose keywords that are frequently searched
for and are in high demand, but not being used by to many
other websites and competitors.

Keyword research can be broken down into a three step
process.

The first step is the discovery phase. In this step you
want to focus on identifying as many keywords or phrases as
possible.

Initially you need to sit down and make a list of keywords
or keyword phrases that describe the topic of your website.

You can do this by jotting down descriptive words that
come to mind, and by using your dictionary. At this point
include every word or phrase that you can think of.

To help make this job much easier there are several
keyword tools that are available to help you generate a
keyword list. Some of these tools are free, like
GoodKeywords.com and Google’s Adwords Tool while others are
fee based.

With these tools you will be able to generate hundreds of
keyword phrases quickly and easily.

I prefer the Google Keyword Tool. This is a free tool that
generates potential keywords, as well as allowing you to
analyse statistics, including search performance, seasonal
trends.

This has some very useful features that include:

- Sorting the results of your desired keyword search by
popularity, past performance history within the AdWords
system, cost, and predicted ad position.

- Easy keyword manipulation where you can select a few
keywords here and there or add them all at once.

- Searches for keywords present even in any webpage URL
specified by your search. It can also expand your keyword
search even further to include those pages that are linked
to or from the original URL page.

- More keyword results are generated based on regularly
updated usage statistics database. This helps you to get
new keywords or phrases.

It also provides you with tips on how to use the tool to
get the best results so that you can easily narrow down
your final selection of keyword phases.

Of course there are many more options available besides
the Google Keyword Tool. Below is a quick list of some that

How to Create Multiple Niche Membership Sites!

Membership sites work very very well online. The internet
is practically tailor-made for it because it makes managing
a subscription site very easy.

In fact, in many markets people are very happy to pay you
every month for years.

Membership sites are one of the best ways to build
consistant income into your business because you make a one-
time sale and then that customer can continue to pay you
every month.

And NO, you don’t need to be an expert to start you’re own
membership site. All you need to do is to know where to
find the information that your potential customers are

Promoting Tangible Products – 5-Step Plan!

In the last lesson we talk about the benefits of promoting
tangible (physical) products and how this can convert into
sizeable profits.

Over the next series of lessons we’re going to be focusing
on a 5-step *no cost* plan that will show you how to
perform the following steps to setup your system:

1. Identify a profitable niche
2. How to select a network
3. How to select your merchants
4. Creating your site
5. Writing your content.

But before we start we feel compelled to mention the
obvious…

…nothing works the exact same way for everyone!

There are many ways to change this particular plan and add
your own variations to it. Everyone has different levels of
knowledge and experience, and because of this results will
vary from one person to another.

When selling anything online, results will also vary from
one niche to another. So this is a basic step by step plan
to help get you started.

This plan WILL work, regardless of what niche market you
choose to target, however your results will depend on how
much effort you put in setting this up.

Step 1:
Select Your Niche

The very first step is to choose the niche market you want
to target. How you select your particular niche is up to
you.

Some people prefer to select products that they themselves
buy. Others prefer to select products in a niche that they
know many people buy from.

Ideally what you need to look for is a niche market that
has:

1. Longevity
2. High demand
3. Profitability

In the next lesson we will continue with Step #1 by
discussing in detail each of the above criteria prior to
moving onto Step #2.

Traffic Basics – Keyword Density!

In the last lesson we talked about why search engines are
so important to the success of your business. In today’s
lesson we’re going to go over the importance of keyword
density.

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the
selected keyword appears on a web page. Keywords shouldn’t
be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to
appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every
line, your site will probably be rejected as possible spam
site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the
total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including
HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a
certain keyword for five times in the content.

The keyword density on that page is obtained by simply
dividing the total number of keywords by the total number
of words that appear on your web page.

In the above example it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because
keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on
the page, multiply the above by 100 to get result in terms
of percentage, ie 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3%
and 5% to get recognized by the search engines and this
rule applies to every page on your site.

However, while you should always to try to aim for a
keyword density between 3% and 5%, this is only a rule of
thumb and there may be occassions where more than 5% is
acceptable.

Only trial and error will determine what works best for
your pages.

Here are some simple steps to check the density of your
content:

- Copy and paste the content from an individual web page
into a word-processing software program, such as Word or
something similar.

- Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to
the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the
total number of words in the page.

- Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to
the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find.
Replace that word with the same word, so you don’t change
the text.

- When you complete the replace function, the system will
provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the
number of times you have used the keyword in that page.

- Using the total word count for the page and the total
number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword
density.

To achieve the best results it is important to have the
first 250 words of your copy keyword rich.

A good tip is to write your content about your chosen
topic first, then choose your keywords and/or keyword
phrases from the content.

Then rewrite your content as needed, adding keywords
and/or keyword phrases that pertain to the theme of the
content.

This way you’ve chosen keywords and/or keyword phrases
that are relevant to your content, instead of trying to
write content to fit your keywords and/or keyword phrases.

ClickBank Automatic Currency Conversion Feature!

If you use ClickBank to sell any of your products, then
you need to read this…

Just recently ClickBank implemented an automatic currency
conversion feature on their payments page.

For example, if your product costs USD$67 and someone in
Australia clicked on the purchase button, the price they
would see on the payment page would be AUD$98.67 (at time
of writing).

Although USD$67 and AUD$98.67 are the same amounts, it
would appear more expensive to your potential customer and
it may exceed your customers psychological price point, and
this may impact on your sales conversions.

This was raised at the Clickbank Success Forum and
thankfully they have responded to these concerns. You now
have a choice to use the automatic currency conversion or
not.

If you’d like to disable the automatic conversion feature,
you can contact Clickbank via their Publisher Contact Form
and request that this automatic conversion feature be
disabled in your account.

You can still offer prices in different currencies by
creating separate product links in your ClickBank account
for each separate currency.

Promoting Tangible Products Can Increase Profits!

At first glance it would appear that as an affiliate you
cannot make as much money promoting tangible products as
your could promoting digital products. This is a common
misconception.

The mistake comes from looking at the commission
percentages, instead of the actual profit numbers.

If for example you find a digital golf product which is
paying 50% commissions, that looks much better to you then
the tangible golf product which is only paying 10%
commissions.

The key is not in the commission rates though. You need to
instead look more closely at the overall numbers.

If the digital product you’ve selected sells for $47, and
you’re being paid 50%, then you will earn $23.50 for each
sale.

The tangible product on the other hand might sell for
$350. So even if you’re only earning 10% commission you
will get $35 per sale. That’s more than $10 higher than
you’ll get from the digital product.

Now, many affiliates mistakenly assume that no one will
spend $350 for a product online. If you stop and think
about this for a minute you will realize that is simply
untrue.

CommerceHub, a dropship fulfillment company had over $4.5
billion in annual sales in 2007. Now this this is just ONE
company. Just imagine the annual sales of ALL dropshipping?

Thank about it. Have you ever personally done your
Christmas shopping online?

Have you ever bought home improvement products? Have you
ever purchased an item on eBay? Have you ever purchased an
item from Amazon?

Even if you personally have not, this is actually how most
people do their shopping online.

If an avid golfer has his heart set on a certain type of
golf clubs, there is an extremely good chance they will
spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars buying those
clubs.

I have personally purchased thousands of dollars worth of
camera equipment online. And it’s not uncommon for me to
spend a couple of hundred dollars at a time just on books
at Amazon.

The point is, people buy stuff online constantly. And it’s
not unusual for them to spend a heck of a lot of money
doing so.

As an affiliate marketer, have access to thousands of in
demand products available for sale online.

Even if those products are only paying you 10 or 15%
commission, you can make a good affiliate income because
physical products have a higher perceived value and
customers will spend much more money for them.

And more often than not they will not simply buy just one
thing. Once they find a product they want to buy, they will
often buy accessories and related items while they are
there.

As an affiliate, you can earn commissions on the entire
sale… and this really adds up.

Now promoting tangible products as an affiliate is very
simple to do. The concept is actually the same as if you
are promoting digital products.

You identify a specific market, figure out what that
market is looking to buy, and then get your own affiliate
links in front of that market.

complete step-by-step process that will help you to begin

Traffic Basics – The Importance of Search Engines!

In the last lesson we discussed what search engine
optimization is and how search engines work. In this lesson
we are going to go over the importance of search engines to
your business.

The search engines can play a very important role in the
success of your business. They can also provide you with
unlimited amounts of free visitor traffic.

Recent studies have shown that the average customer will
go to the search engine and do a search before deciding
whether or not they want to make a purchase.

When they perform that search the search engine will sift
through the millions of pages it has indexed about and
present them with ones that match their requests. The
matches are ranked so that the most relevant sites are
listed first.

It is also good to keep in mind that your prospective
customer will probably only look at the first page of
listings in the search results.

So it does matter where your website appears in the search
engine ranking. Statistics show that most people use one of
the top 3 search engines and these search engines attract
more visitors to websites than anything else.

When your business is competing with hundreds, if not
thousands, of other businesses for the top spot it makes it
easy to understand why search engines are so important to
your success.

It is the keywords and phrases that you choose that play
the most important role when it comes to SEO for the online
or offline advertising of your website via the search
engines.

As I mentioned earlier, when customers want to find a
website for information or to buy a product or service,
they find what they are looking for in one of the
following ways:

1. They find a relevant website through a keyword search
via a search engine, such as Google, Yahoo or MSN.

2. They find a site by clicking on a link from another
website or a page that relates to the topic in which they
are interested.

3. They find a site by hearing about it from a friend or
reading about it in an article.

Thus it’s obvious the most popular way to find a site is
by the search engines, which represents more than 90% of
online users.

In other words, only 10% of the people looking for a
website will use methods other than search engines.

Now I hope you understand how important the search engines
can be to the success of your business and why you should
learn and use a variety of SEO techniques to get your
business website to rank well in the popular search engines.

Creating an Effective Ad Campaign!

As part of your sales campaign there will be many
opportunities to compose ads that can be used in a number
of situations.

In some cases, these may be general ads that are designed
as part of an overall marketing campaign aimed at a new
target group of consumers. At other times, you may want to
develop a solo ad that is aimed at appearing in a one time
publication.

There are also situations where it may be advantageous to
develop a series of ads that spotlight several of your high
profile products or services. Here are a few tips to help
you come up with ads that will work.

First you need to create a simple but effective ad that is
targeted to a specific publication, a website or an email
list targeted to your potential clients.

Your ad should redirect visitors to your web site, so make
sure that the tag or trigger you use with the ad is
relevant to what your prospect will see when he or she
arrives at the site.

Keep in mind that your ads are not meant to be detailed
repetitions of the information on your web site. They are
meant to call attention to some aspect of your business,
and build enough interest that people will want to learn
more.

Don’t try to accomplish too many things with your ad. If
the purpose for the ad is to promote a sale, then make sure
you focus on the benefits this will provide to your
potential customers.

Perhaps you want to promote a new and improved product.
Focus on one or two major benefits of the product and how
this will improve, educate or help your prospects.

One easy way to create a series of ads is to come up with
one basic format that can easily be adapted for different
situations. Once the basic elements are in place, it is
relatively easy to use the master ad as the template.

From that vantage point, it is easy to make some changes
that will personalize each ad placement to target the

appear. This approach also provides a sense of continuity.

How to Write Copy That Sells!

Using words that will result in sales opportunities is
important in any environment. This is especially true when
composing sales copy for a web site, an online press
release, or an electronic advertisement.

There are several factors to keep in mind when writing the
text for your web copy. Here are some of the most important
things to keep in mind.

First, it is imperative to keep your target audience in
mind when composing the web copy.

This will often mean making sure that the text is
sprinkled with terminology that will be immediately
recognizable to the reader. Adding in terms that are
familiar to the consumer helps to accomplish two things.

First, they serve as markers that help the reader know
that he or she is at a site that has relevance to their
needs and interests.

Second, the use of familiar terms creates the impression
that the author of the web site possesses a competent
knowledge about the subject matter.

Both of these factors help to hold the interest of the
reader long enough for the web copy to present all the
reasons why life would be so much easier with the
acquisition of the advertised good or service.

Technical terms may be fine in some instances, while their
use may actually be a deterrent in other situations.

For example, even though your product offering may have to
do with conference room telephones, you may want to refrain
from using a lot of telephony terms.

This would be true if you are looking to promote your
products to administrative assistants and busy executives.

Instead of technical terminology, the focus should be on
the features included with the unit, as well as emphasizing
how easy the unit is to use.

Of course, if the focus is on promoting the telephone
equipment to Information Technology managers, then the
inclusion of technical terms and specifications would be a
must.

Knowing what type of words to use will connect with your
target audience will go a long way in making the copy of
your web text interesting and attractive to your audience.

Another thing to keep in mind about your web copy is that
you want to get the highest ranking as possible in various
Internet search engines.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to make sure there
are keywords sprinkled throughout the copy.

Keywords are simply words that are easily picked up as
being relevant to the subject matter, and which are likely
to be used by anyone doing research online related to that
particular subject.

For example, if an assistant is charged with the task of
finding qood buys on a speakerphone for the conference
room, there are several key words that he or she is likely
to use as part of the search criteria.

Words such as speakerphone, conference, conference room,
meeting, business, and telephone are some examples of words
that may be used as part of the search.

Having all those words included in the text of your sales
web copy will help to ensure your web site is included as
part of the search results that are returned by the search
engine.

One way to get an idea of what types of keywords to
include in your web copy is to conduct a search of your own.

Check out competitor sites and make note of some of the
words that seem to occur two to four times in their copy.
Chances are repetition at that level is done in order to
maximize the chances of getting a high ranking on an engine
search.

Keeping in mind that you do not necessarily want to
replicate the keywords that are used by your competitors,
think of other terms that are similar in meaning and that
you think would be likely words or phrases to use for a
search.

Try out your theory by doing a few searches using your own
set of keywords. You may find that the results are very
positive, and could lead to greatly increasing your chances
of a high ranking on all the major search engines.

Traffic Basics – SEO Overview!

Welcome to the first lesson in SEO & Traffic For Your
Business.

In each lesson you will learn valuable information on how
you can use search engine optimization to get traffic to
your business website.

In this first lesson were going to go over exactly what
search engine optimization is and how search engines work.

Let’s start with an overview of search engine optimization.

Basically SEO is a process of choosing the most
appropriate and targeted keyword phrases related to your
website and working to get them to rank your site in the
search engines so that when someone searches for the
keywords or phrases it returns your site on the top of the
results page.

Basic SEO involves fine tuning the content of your site
along with the HTML and Meta tags. It also involves a good
link building process.

The most popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, MSN
Search, AOL and Ask Jeeves.

Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms
secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search
results and to prevent spam pages from clogging the
results.

A search engine may use hundreds of factors while ranking
the listings where the factors themselves and the weight
each carries may change continually.

Algorithms can differ so widely that a webpage that ranks
#1 in one search engine could rank #200 in another.

New sites don’t necessarily have to be “submitted” to
search engines to be listed. A simple link from a well
established site will get the search engines to visit the
new site and begin to spider its contents.

It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of
a link from such an established site for all the main
search engine spiders to visit and index the new site.

Now let’s talk about how the search engines actually work.

They use spiders to crawl your website pages and index
them. A ‘spider’ is an automated program that is run by the
search engine system.

The spider visits a web site, reads the content on the
actual site, the site’s Meta tags and also follow the links
that the site connects to.

The spider then returns all that information back to a
central depository, where the data is indexed. It will
visit each link you have on your website and index those
sites as well.

The spider will periodically return to the sites to check
for any information that has changed. The frequency with
which this happens is determined by the moderators of the
search engine.

A spider is almost like a book that contains a huge table of
contents, the actual content and the links and references
for all the websites it finds during its search, and it may
index up to a million pages a day.

When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is
actually searching through the index which it has created
and not actually searching the web.

Different search engines produce different results and
rankings because not every search engine uses the same
algorithm to get the job done.

One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for
is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page,
but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing. Then
the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other
pages in the web.

By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can
both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the
linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original
page.

I know this may sound a bit confusing if you’re new to SEO
but don’t worry, once you take the time to learn the basics
you find that it’s not as complicated as you may think.

Now if you don’t want to research and choose keywords and
work on your own search engine ranking, you may want to
hire someone to do the work for you.

There are many marketing and promotion companies available
that will to all of the work for you or simply look at your
site and make recommendations to increase your search
engine ranking and website traffic.

They will also provide ongoing consultation and reporting
to monitor your website and make recommendations for
editing and improvements to keep your site traffic flow and
your search engine ranking high.

Normally your SEO experts work with your web designer to
build an integrated plan right away so that all aspects of
design are considered at the same time.
