Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing

This is an online business where you use your selling and marketing expertise to get consumers to buy other people’s products and earn income from the sale you made. Typically, you would earn a pre-determined amount of money based on the sales you make of those products, but in some cases, you could make money from the clicks from your site that get the consumers to the affiliate websites.

Sometimes you can earn money by getting customers to sign up for things on the affiliate sites, such as newsletters etc. Each affiliate program will discuss this further on how they work, so when you sign up for their program, be sure to check out how their process works. This will be kept track of through an affiliate link that you’re provided with to place on your site.

What skills are helpful?

You don’t have to be a salesman or a marketer to be an affiliate marketer. Knowledge on how to do these things will be important though. Learn everything you can about how online marketing works and learn how to be a successful affiliate marketer from other top marketers.

It will take hard work and much dedication to get your affiliate marketing business to be a successful one. If you don’t have the time nor the gumption to work hard, don’t consider this to be your online business.

What tools are needed?

The tools needed will be minimal. Besides the usual computer with reliable internet access, you will need a website to sell the affiliate products from. You won’t have to stock up on the products, just to sell them.

Your website will need fresh content on a regular basis, so be prepared to either write some articles yourself or hire someone to do them for you. A blog to link to your site will be helpful as well to make the search engines happy with you.

How do you get started?

You will need to determine what niche you have for your affiliate marketing website. This helps you to stand out from your competitors. For example, you could use nutrition as your niche. Then create a website based on the niche you chose for your business.

Then find affiliate products to sell from that site. Make sure that the products you decide to sell for your business are related in some way to the niche you have chosen for your affiliate marketing business.

So, if your niche is in the nutritional field, you will want to offer affiliate products that are related in some way to nutrition. If you don’t offer related products in your business, you run the risk of appearing as unprofessional and the search engines won’t be too pleased with you as well.

There are many people who make quite a bit of money running this type of business. It’s important to remember that the most work you will have in this type of business will be marketing your website to get consumers to find you. When they find you, your site should be able to get them interested in your products to the point where they will buy using your links.

Service Based Businesses

28 Nov

Service Based Businesses

A service based business is one where you offer some type of service to potential clients. Some of these include:

· Writing

· Web Design

· Accounting/Bookkeeping

· Virtual Assistant

Other small business owners have a tough time getting all of their business tasks done by themsleves, so they outsource those projects to someone else. They look for people who offer the services they need done for them.

If you have experience in some of these areas, you could offer it as a service by starting your own business selling yourself. For example, if you have some writing experience and can write well, you can offer that as a service to others who need writing done for their sites.

What skills are needed?

Depending on the type of service you choose to provide your potential clients, you should have some amount of skill under your belt. It’s not necessary to have educational degrees to perform these services, but clients like to see that you have some kind of experience to complete the tasks they need done.

Working online doesn’t provide the face to face contact that brick and mortar companies have when they hire employees. Trust comes a little harder online, so people do like to know the person they’re hiring has skills and knowledge in a particular field.

While it’s not necessary to have 10+ years experience performing a service, the fact that you have done it before and have some testimonials to back that claim up helps tremendously.

What tools are needed?

The tools you need will depend on the type of services you plan to provide. The more common ones that most service based businesses should have are:

· Computer

· Reliable Internet access

· Phone

· E-mail program

· Website

There will probably be some software programs to obtain as well. Each service uses some different ones, but most need a word processing program, excel program, and some use a web designing program.

You should consider an Instant Messaging program for those clients who like to be able to contact you instantly without having to use the phone to call or wait for an e-mail response.

How do you get started?

First thing you want to do is decide on the type of service you plan to offer your clients. Jot down everything you can think of that shows you have some experience or knowledge in that particular field.

Next, get your website created. Showcase your skills or experience on your site and provide clients with testimonials from other people who have used your skills and were pleased with the results. Place your rates and any other information about how you run your business.

Market your site on various places on the internet to get your online business out there for potential clients to find and check out. When clients contact you to hire you for whatever service they need, reiterate to them how things will go. For example, let them know how they be invoiced for the work done and how much it will cost etc.

It will take awhile to build a list of regular clients, so don’t expect to be making tons of money right away. Give it time and keep marketing your service based business until you get to the point where you’re practically turning away clients because you’re too busy.

Running a service based business is a perfect option for those who already are performing that service at another job. In most cases, you could make more money offering those services online than you can by working a brick and mortar position.

Niche Research

22 Sep

It is your decision to enter the field of online marketing. You understand that Affiliate Marketing can help you become profitable in this new field. You have registered your domain name and hired a web-hosting service that will help you become profitable.

You are ready to generate campaigns and build your mailing list. However, how can you ensure that you will reach the people who are interested with your products or your affiliate products?

How do you know if there are people interested in your product or your niche market?

How do you conduct niche research?

How do you recognize if the niche you are about to enter has interest and profitability in it.

If your niche does not have many people interested in it, we can only hope you stay in business longer.

Of course, we are here to help you, thus we will discuss how to conduct niche research that will benefit your business.

Why do niche research?

Niche research is important because it will define the volume of people interested in your product or your affiliate product. There should be a good amount of people interest in your niche subject if you want to become successful and profitable.

Do not enter the online business arena without thinking of the people who have interest in it. It may cause you to loose you excitement in your new business and your investment may go with it.

Know if there are people interested in your subject and if there are advertisers in such a niche. If there are advertisers in your niche, then it will tell you that there are people buying products in such a niche.

It will also help you conduct your campaigns well and reach potential buyers easily if you do your niche research.

Advertisers will not pay for time slots and banners postings if there is no interest in such a niche.

This is what you need to know to ensure that you can find solution to problems and thus if you can provide the solution to their problems people will buy your products.

The niche research will likewise provide you with insight on how to build your mailing list. Having a mailing list with many names in it will give you a good chance of profiting from your niche.

How do you do your niche research?

Think of the main keyword that will spell out your product or the affiliate product you are selling.

Think of as many keywords as possible.

Let us look at an example: You are a pet lover. You know much about dog training and this is the niche market you are entering.

You will research as much about dogs, dog training, and other dog service variations. Know how many websites and advertisements are in your niche. During your research, you will know which keywords are hot in your niche.

Use the popular keywords in your website, your articles and in all your campaigns.

When an internet browser searches for your keyword, and you have successfully peppered your articles with it, then, your article will rank high on search engines. When the internet browser clicks on your article, he will see the advertisements and when he clicks, that is a signal that this is a targeted customer.

Now, you do this based on your product or service. However, if you do not have a product, you will still be able to earn from a niche research by researching products you have knowledge of and affiliating yourself with it it.

It’s important to affiliate marketers to be involve in an inner circle. It can help affiliate marketers to know the new products that will launch.

JV Notify Pro (http://jvnotifypro.com) can help you achieve that. Visit it now and register for free.

You can start by researching the profitable niche/keywords before selecting Clickbank Products to promote.

3 Tips to Achieve Your Online Goals!

Do you dream of the day where you have an online business
that makes you plenty of money each and every month so you
can be your own boss and do what YOU want, WHEN you want?

This is not an unrealistic dream!

You CAN create your own profitable online business – and
make it a very enjoyable experience – IF you follow these
very simple & practical tips.

Tip #1 – Find an idea that you are excited about!

This is very important. To sustain your business in the
long-term you need to enjoy what you do. The only way to do
it is to find an idea, product and niche that you feel
passionate about.

Do some research online for ideas. Type a few terms into
the search engines and see what ideas you find in your
niche. You’ll be surprised at how many great ideas there
are for you to grab and make your own.

Tip #2 – You need to invest time AND money!

You must realize that you will need to invest some capital
into your online venture. This will be in the way of time
AND money.

Some things in life just aren’t free and this is one of
them. You need to start with some level of money to achieve
your outcome.

If you have more time than money, that’s fine. In the
beginning you can save money by doing most of the stuff you
need to do yourself. If you use the time you have wisely,
you will be rewarded over and over again.

The important thing to do is to sit down and work out a
comfortable budget of time and money… and then stick to
it.

If you can only afford to spend a fifty dollars per month
and a few hours per day on your online business, then do
some research to develop a plan BEFORE you get started.

Tip #3 – It will take time!

You need to understand that you will not start making your
fortune overnight. Yes there are some that do, but this is
not normal.

Do not try to take shortcuts because you think you can
have an easier path to faster profits. This will lead to
your downfall.

You need to understand and accept right from the start
that it may take several months, maybe much longer, before
you start showing any real profit.

You need to be patient and consistant. Don’t skip from one
scheme to another. Develop a step-by-step plan that is
right for you and follow it to the letter.

If you follow these tips, have faith and stick to your
plan and you will be handsomely rewarded for your efforts.

5-Step Plan – Selecting the Right Affiliate Networks!

In the last lesson we finalized Step #1 of your step-by-
step profit plan. Today we move on to Step #2, which is
to sign up with one or more affiliate networks.

Now first off you need to find the right affiliate
programs that have products that are relevent to your
selected niches.

In doing this you have two options…

You can either sign up with independent affiliate programs
or sign up with an affiliate network.

Independent programs are good but as a rule they only have
a single product that you can promote.

Your most beneficial option is to sign-up to an affiliate
network as this will give you access to MULTIPLE merchants
that have relevant products targeting your niche.

Having all of your merchants separate can result in a lot
of headaches and problems later on down the road. For
example, it may take you a while to start getting paid by
them.

This is because it may take you some time to generate
enough sales to meet the minimum payout requirements. Plus,
if that merchant does not have specific types of products,
then you’ll need to go find additional merchants.

If that merchant drops a particular line of products,
you’ll have the same problem. And if that merchant goes
away for whatever reason, you’ll find yourself stuck
without products to sell until you found a merchant
replacement.

By signing up with an affiliate network on the other hand,
you can generally find at least three merchants to supply
the products you need for your particular niche.

You also get the benefit of lower minimum payout amounts,
automated payment such as direct deposit to your bank
account, and the combined power of the sales you’re making
from all the merchants you belong to.

There are several large affiliate networks you can sign up
for. The best two that I recommend are Share a Sale and
Commission Junction.

http://www.cj.com

http://www.shareasale.com

Commission Junction is quite possibly the largest
affiliate network out there. It has thousands of merchants
and many of them are very well known names.

Commission Junction will send you your affiliate
commission payments each month that you’ve earned $25 or
more, and they also have a direct deposit option, which
makes receiving your funds much faster.

Share a Sale is considered a new affiliate network even
though it has been around for several years. It is a
smaller network and it has many smaller merchants.

Share a Sale is very popular because they are considered
to be more affiliate friendly than any other network. There
are also easier to get set up with, and they have some
great affiliate marketing tools.

Link share is another fairly large affiliate network that
some affiliates like to work with, and of course Amazon or
eBay are quite popular as well.

http://www.linkshare.com

Amazon or eBay have almost everything for sale. Just be
sure to check that you can earn commissions as an affiliate
with them for the products you want to promote.

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com

http://www.ebaypartnernetwork.com

Once you’ve selected one or more affiliate networks to
work with, sign up with them now.

That’s all for today, but in the next lesson we will move
on to Step #3 – how to select the righ merchants.

Traffic Basics – The Importance of Referrer Logs!

In the last lesson we talked about submitting your site to
the search engines. Today we are going to go over the
importance of referrer logs.

Referrer logging is used to allow web servers and websites
to identify where people are visiting them either for
promotional or security purposes.

Your referrer logs can determine which search engine your
visitors used to find your site and/or whether they come
from a ‘linked site’.

(Note: A ‘linked site’ is basically the URL of the
previous webpage from which your link was followed)

By default most hosting accounts include referrer logs. If
your web host does not provide a graphic report of your log
files, you can still view your referrer logs by logging
into the host server using free or low cost FTP software
such as these:

FTP Explorer:

http://www.ftpx.com

SmartFTP:

http://www.smartftp.com

FTP Voyager:

http://www.ftpvoyager.com

Cute FTP:

http://www.cuteftp.com

You can use a log analysis tool like those mentioned below
to create a graphic report from your log files so that the
files are easier to understand.

Abacre Advanced Log Analyzer

http://www.abacre.com/ala

Referrer Soft

http://www.softplatz.com/software/referrer

Log Analyzer

http://www.loganalyzer.net

In addition to identifying the search engine or the site
from where your visitor arrived, referrer logs can also
tell you what keywords or keyword phrases that your
visitors used to find your site.

You will find that once you are able to track the efforts
of all your SEO, advertising, affliate promotions, etc, you
will be able to figure out which ones are working the best
for you.

This way you can focus on improving the promotions that
are working and dumping those that arenn’t to try to
maximize your profits.

Make sure you look for the next lession were we will be
talking about reciprocal link building and how this can
explode your visitor traffic.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is your chance to speak out.

The Six Strangest World Billionaires

3 Oct

The Six Strangest World Billionaires

Of course, having more money than most people would know what to do with tends to make some people a little odd. And what’s the point of having all that money if you can’t do whatever you want, no matter how bizarre? Here are the extreme cases of people who would be oddities anyway – even if they were broke!

Nicolas Berggruen – the homeless billionaire

Nicolas Berggruen has  a net worth of $3 billion. He made that by being born into the famous family of art collectors. He made even more money through his involvement in private equity and hedge fund businesses. Yet he has no house, preferring to live out of hotels. Every meal he eats is at a restaurant. He doesn’t even own a car! In his interview, he explained, “Living in a grand environment to show myself and others that I have wealth has zero appeal. Whatever I own is temporary, since we’re only here for a short period of time.”

Bill Gates – the technophile

You’d expect the founder of Microsoft to be enthusiastic about technology, but he takes it to an extreme beyond all reason. His mansion includes an underground music system for his swimming pool, two secret bookcase doors, speakers hidden in the wallpaper so that music flows into the room from nowhere, and an RIF-chip system so that the house can adjust the thermostat in a room according to the preferences of whoever is in that room. Sometimes he pushes technology too far – he has been caught onstage with a 50-foot “blue screen of death” when he’s demoing Windows and it crashes, he spent his first night in his mansion trying to figure out how to turn off the TV, and he once wrote a blistering letter to his engineers when he spent a whole day trying to get his own computer to install a media codec.

Carl Icahn – the predator

Carl Icahn is self-described “corporate raider”. His specialty is hostile takeovers, his greatest being TWA in 1985. His latest move has been a years-long battle to take over Yahoo!, Inc., for pretty much no reason except he feels like it. While other billionaires build fortunes, he waits for somebody else to build one – then he goes in to take it away! He has also described himself as an “investor activist”. The Wall Street Journal is even up in arms about him, as written in their article “Why Carl Icahn Is Bad For Investors”: He pushes for strategies that raise prices in the short term while harming companies’ long-term prospects. Carl Icahn is a bad boy that won’t play nice with others. But he’s fun to watch!

Sultan of Brunei – the playboy

Bored? Well, just build your own amusement park! That’s apparently what Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah was thinking when he built Jerudong Park, a $1 billion theme park which boasts a steel looping roller coaster, carousel, pedal boats, pirate ship, skydiver, bumper cars, go-carts, shooting gallery, amphitheater, and a musical fountain show. Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston have performed at the amphitheater. Can’t he just watch TV like the rest of us?

Zimbabwe – the starving “billionaires”

OK, we’re cheating with this one. The “billionaires” of Zimbabwe are only “billionaires” in Zimbabwe dollars – a one-billion-dollar Zimbabwe banknote is currently worth one United States penny – and falling! Zimbabwe has inflation at the rate of 2.2 million percent. 80% of the population of Zimbabwe lives below the poverty line. It is an especially sad sight to see a filthy Zimbabwe child in rags and bare feet walk down a muddy path to the store to buy a slice of bread for today’s meal, while carrying huge armloads of worthless paper money to do so.

Steve Fossett – missing forever?

Billionaire Steve Fossett was a world-class adventurer, with five nonstop circumnavigations of the Earth to his credit including as a long-distance solo balloonist, as a sailor, and as a solo flight fixed-wing aircraft pilot. As a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Explorers Club, Fossett has set 116 records in five different sports. Now, how does a guy like this manage to lose an airplane over the bare, clear Nevada desert in September 2007 so thoroughly that no searcher can find him? The biggest search and rescue team in America’s history can’t even confirm he’s dead. Not a single bolt of his plane wreckage has turned up anywhere. Several reporters have brought up the possibility that he might have faked his own death. Lieutenant Colonel Cynthia Ryan of the US Civil Air Patrol, who has been part of the search effort, has stated, “I’ve been doing this search and rescue for 14 years. Fossett should have been found. We’re pretty good at what we do.”
