Some online business owners make money from selling memberships to their websites. People purchase memberships to gain access to content that the website owner provides them on a regular basis.

Customers will have questions about the products and may have some problems that you will need to address, so good customer service skills will be a must. Establishing good rapport with your customer will start the cycle going of them coming back to buy more from you. Providing them with top notch customer service will help you gain that.

If you have chosen to sell products that you create yourself; you will need to stock up on an inventory of items to create them. Check with some vendors to find good deals on items that are purchased in bulk to help you save some money.

Of course a website will be necessary as well as your customers will need to find your products, see what they are and have a way to order what you’re offering. Make sure the site has the shopping cart feature to make the purchasing process easier for your business.

The first thing you will want to do is to decide what you’re going to sell. Are you creating your own products to offer or are you planning to sell other products through the use of drop shippers?

If you’re planning to sell items you create yourself, then you will need to research vendors for the inventory you will need to make those products. Have some made up ahead of time, so that when consumers start to order your product, you can ship them out right away and not make them wait another day or two while you make them up.

Positive Thinking Breeds Success!

One of the most important keys to success in business is
your belief in yourself and your product or service.

If you do not firmly believe in your own abilities,
knowledge, and experience, then you cannot expect others to
believe. If you do not believe in your product or service,
then you will never be able to convince your customers to
believe.

Fortunately, you can use your positive thinking skills to
increase your belief and attain business growth in the
process.

To begin this process, take out a sheet of paper and write
two headings at the top. The first heading should read “Me”
and the second heading should read “My Product”.

Now take a minute to write down every positive aspect and
benefit that comes to mind about each. Do not filter you
thoughts at this point. Write down everything even if it
doesn’t seem to be directly related to the topic.

Once you have a rough draft of the list, you need to
review it and weed out the statements that are unnecessary
for this exercise.

After you have narrowed down the list to only include
meaningful, concrete statements and benefits, you need to
turn each statement into a positive affirmation. For
example, you can turn “4 years of experience in marketing”
into the following affirmation.

“I can use my 4 years of marketing experience to succeed
at every aspect of my business”.

Once you have turned every statement into an appropriate
affirmation, repeat those affirmations often to strengthen
your beliefs. Once these statements become part of your
core beliefs, they will sneak their way into everything you
do and say.

The confidence that this will create will rub off on your
customers and other contacts, enabling them to sense and
share your belief.

And the bonus is that you can now use the list you have
just written to sell yourself and your product to your list
or website visitors by including it in your sales pages as
the main benefits.

A Quick and Easy Tip to Increase Sales!

Recently there has been some talk about the order page and
what you can do to increase sales on this one important yet
mostly neglected factor.

It is has been shown many people abandon the sales process
on the order page or shopping cart.

Recent reports show that shopping cart abandonment rates
has increased to as high as 32% for the average website.

So how can you buck this trend and improve your sales at
the 11th hour ordering process?

Include a testimonial on your order page!

Remember, you have not received payment for the product
yet so don’t assume your potential customer is already
sold, they many not be quite yet.

A simple testimonial from one of your best customers may
be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and convinces the
“fence sitters” to jump onboard.

You might be thinking, is a testimonial alone just as
good? Well, yes and no

Alex Mandossian has been using this strategy for quite
sometime. He has found a testimonial alone works well, but
a testimonial with a picture works GREAT!

Let’s look at the psychology behind what we are doing…

First we need to think like the potential customer.

This is often hard to do for most people. Your customer
has just read your website, they like what they have seen
so far. You have several order links throughout the ad copy
so it was very easy for them to click through to the order
page.

They finally click through one of your benefit-laden order
links and your order page pops up in front of them.

They scan through reading the highlights and are still
very happy. They look at the URL and see they are on a
secure site which pleases them and are now feeling all warm
and fuzzy about making the purchase.

At this point they are ready to buy, because they didn’t
read the whole sales letter yet, because you were very
convincing on your order link which they clicked through.

As they read the order page, this picture of a respected
leader in their industry is there and they are drawn
immediately to it.

They read what this industry leader has to say and are now
shocked at what high praise this legend is giving your
product or service.

They now think, if it is good enough for this guru, then
it is certainly good enough for them too. So they order
your product without even finishing your sales letter.

How many of those types of people would you want on your
website?

I will take as many I can get! You have to understand, it
wasn’t the person, it was the layout and the information
feeding you gave to them that created the sale.

What put them over the edge was this well known industry
leader you placed on your website and the testimonial he or
she gave to you endorsing your product or service.

You created the sale with proper use a testimonial in the
right place. As they say, a picture is worth a thousands
words.

Not only can the potential customer read the testimonial
but they can get a mental picture of this person telling
them how great the product or service is and their
experience in using it. And this is VERY powerful!

Blogging Basics – Blogging for Fun!

In the last lesson we talked about dealing with comments
that are left on your blog. In this lesson we’re going to
discuss blogging for fun.

Although blogging can be used for a variety of other
purposes such as generating income, promoting a cause and
providing information, there are many bloggers who enjoy
blogging simply because it is fun.

These bloggers enjoy blogging for reasons such as staying
in touch with friends, expressing themselves or keeping a
record of important events.

So let’s start with blogging to stay in touch with your
friends and family.

Staying in touch with friends and family members is just
one of the many reasons a person may wish to start a blog.
This is especially useful for those who move far away from
their friends and family members.

Staying in touch by phone, regular visits and even email
is not always easy. This is because it can be difficult to
keep up long distance interactions with several different
people at once.

However, by maintaining a blog, a person can greatly
simplify the process of staying in touch with friends and
family members because they do not have to repeat
information in individual phone calls or emails or make
time to visit several different people.

When maintaining a blog you can choose to post a variety
of information and photos. Through the information and
photos you, family and friends can easily keep each other
informed about current life events.

You can easily share the news of the day with everyone
that you want to keep in touch with, and they can enjoy it
at their convenience to catch up, keep in touch, plus post
and read the comments posted by others.

This is a great way to stay in touch with several people
at one time.

Next we will discuss blogging as a form of expression.

Some bloggers begin blogging as a form of expression. They
may write poetry, songs, short stories or even use the blog
to vent about personal events or politics.

These bloggers may wish to keep their blog private or can
make the blog available to the public.

Keeping the blog private is sort of like keeping a diary
or a journal. It gives you a multi-media form of expressing
yourself without the risk of others discovering your true
feelings, innermost thoughts, dreams or frustrations.

Of course may also opt to make your personal blogs public.

You may want to do this for a number of different reasons.
Sometimes sharing your thoughts and feelings allows you to
reach others who may have the same problems or interests as
you do.

If you decide to use your blog as a form of personal
expression you may want to be careful and consider the
decision to make your blog public.

This is important because you may initially not see
problems with allowing others to view your personal
thoughts. However, over time you may realize your blog
could either be offensive to others or could result in
problems if friends or family members view the blog.

Ok. Last but not least, let’s talk about blogging to keep
a record of important events.

Another common reason for blogging is to keep a record of
important events. Examples of some types of events which a
you may wish to document include a pregnancy, weddings,
vacations, sporting events, birthdays, graduations or school
plays.

The list could go on, but you get the idea!

Using blogs to keep a record of these events gives you an
opportunity to record them in one simple location where
they can easily viewed, shared and remembered.

In many cases the blog can serve as a form of scrapbook,
documenting the events as they occur. You can post as often
as you desire and easily include other elements such as
photos, music, audio files and video files into the blog.

The nice thing about using a blog to document important
events is that it can be customized and designed to suit
the event that is being documented.

For example a blog about your family’s summer vacation
could have backgrounds, images, fonts and colors
representing the vacation location. While a pregnancy blog
may feature elements associated with pregnancy, babies and
being parents.

So there you have it. Blogging can be fun and informative
too. If you haven’t started your own “just for fun” blog I
highly recommend it!
