You will need to plan your membership site beforehand. What do you plan to offer your members? Will it be content, software etc? When you have made your decision, then come up with a new and different angle to provide your consumers.

You could provide content in a specific niche, like nutrition or you could offer a certain kind of written content-whatever it takes to get provide internet users with a fresh angle. This helps you stand out from the crowd of competitors out there.

Next, get your membership site created with a shopping cart feature to handle the payments for the memberships. The membership management software programs should come with all you need to accomplish your business. All you would then need is the content to give to your members.

The most important step will be to market your membership site to get people to find you. Marketing techniques will be discussed later on in this report.

Membership sites can offer you a means of earning residual type income. If people are satisfied with what you give them, they will have no problems handing you their money to keep renewing their access to your site’s content.

Making Money From Selling Products

This type of business can be done in a few different ways. One way is to create and sell your own products. Crafters often get into this type of business to sell their own creations to the internet public. Scrapbook creators also choose this path for their business.

Another way to sell products is by using an online store selling other products. There would be no inventory of items to stock in your home, nor do you have to ship anything directly from your own location. Having a good website set up will be necessary to provide the customers will everything they need when deciding whether or not to buy your products.

Customers will have questions about the products and may have some problems that you will need to address, so good customer service skills will be a must. Establishing good rapport with your customer will start the cycle going of them coming back to buy more from you. Providing them with top notch customer service will help you gain that.

What tools are needed?

If you have chosen to sell products that you create yourself; you will need to stock up on an inventory of items to create them. Check with some vendors to find good deals on items that are purchased in bulk to help you save some money.

Of course a website will be necessary as well as your customers will need to find your products, see what they are and have a way to order what you’re offering. Make sure the site has the shopping cart feature to make the purchasing process easier for your business.

How do you get started?

The first thing you will want to do is to decide what you’re going to sell. Are you creating your own products to offer or are you planning to sell other products through the use of drop shippers?

If you’re planning to sell items you create yourself, then you will need to research vendors for the inventory you will need to make those products. Have some made up ahead of time, so that when consumers start to order your product, you can ship them out right away and not make them wait another day or two while you make them up.

When the planning stage is done, you will need to get your website created to sell them from. Make sure the site is easy to navigate and isn’t so distracting that they get turned off from your business within a few seconds.

Of course, the last step in getting started in this business will be marketing your products, which will be discussed further on in this report. This step is the most important one if you want your business to be a success, so don’t skimp on this one.

Selling products is an excellent way to make some money online. If you already create products to give away as gifts to friends and family, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t take the product to the internet and start selling them.

Promoting Tangible Products – 5-Step Plan!

In the last lesson we talk about the benefits of promoting
tangible (physical) products and how this can convert into
sizeable profits.

Over the next series of lessons we’re going to be focusing
on a 5-step *no cost* plan that will show you how to
perform the following steps to setup your system:

1. Identify a profitable niche
2. How to select a network
3. How to select your merchants
4. Creating your site
5. Writing your content.

But before we start we feel compelled to mention the
obvious…

…nothing works the exact same way for everyone!

There are many ways to change this particular plan and add
your own variations to it. Everyone has different levels of
knowledge and experience, and because of this results will
vary from one person to another.

When selling anything online, results will also vary from
one niche to another. So this is a basic step by step plan
to help get you started.

This plan WILL work, regardless of what niche market you
choose to target, however your results will depend on how
much effort you put in setting this up.

Step 1:
Select Your Niche

The very first step is to choose the niche market you want
to target. How you select your particular niche is up to
you.

Some people prefer to select products that they themselves
buy. Others prefer to select products in a niche that they
know many people buy from.

Ideally what you need to look for is a niche market that
has:

1. Longevity
2. High demand
3. Profitability

In the next lesson we will continue with Step #1 by
discussing in detail each of the above criteria prior to
moving onto Step #2.

Traffic Basics – Keyword Density!

In the last lesson we talked about why search engines are
so important to the success of your business. In today’s
lesson we’re going to go over the importance of keyword
density.

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the
selected keyword appears on a web page. Keywords shouldn’t
be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to
appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every
line, your site will probably be rejected as possible spam
site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the
total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including
HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a
certain keyword for five times in the content.

The keyword density on that page is obtained by simply
dividing the total number of keywords by the total number
of words that appear on your web page.

In the above example it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because
keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on
the page, multiply the above by 100 to get result in terms
of percentage, ie 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3%
and 5% to get recognized by the search engines and this
rule applies to every page on your site.

However, while you should always to try to aim for a
keyword density between 3% and 5%, this is only a rule of
thumb and there may be occassions where more than 5% is
acceptable.

Only trial and error will determine what works best for
your pages.

Here are some simple steps to check the density of your
content:

- Copy and paste the content from an individual web page
into a word-processing software program, such as Word or
something similar.

- Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to
the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the
total number of words in the page.

- Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to
the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find.
Replace that word with the same word, so you don’t change
the text.

- When you complete the replace function, the system will
provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the
number of times you have used the keyword in that page.

- Using the total word count for the page and the total
number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword
density.

To achieve the best results it is important to have the
first 250 words of your copy keyword rich.

A good tip is to write your content about your chosen
topic first, then choose your keywords and/or keyword
phrases from the content.

Then rewrite your content as needed, adding keywords
and/or keyword phrases that pertain to the theme of the
content.

This way you’ve chosen keywords and/or keyword phrases
that are relevant to your content, instead of trying to
write content to fit your keywords and/or keyword phrases.

talking about keyword research and tools that you can use
to get the job done more efficiently.

How to Come Up With Fresh Content for Your Sites!

Thinking of new fresh ideas to write about in your niche
can be very difficult, particularly if you’re targeting a
popular niche where every topic has already been written
about.

Take dog training for example. This is an extremely
popular niche and just about every topic under the sun has
been written or talked about before, so it’s almost
impossible to think of new tactics or ideas to write about.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that you don’t have
to keep coming up with new ideas as topics for your online
content or as articles to submit to the directories.

Let me explain.

All you need do is to mixed up, rewrite or recreate
existing content by adding your own style or thoughts so
that it is only mildly recognizable as something that’s
been said before.

This is exactly the same tactic that I use for article
marketing, and you too can use it in your own niche.

Here’s some tips on how you can do this:

Look for things that have already been talked about or
written. They don’t have to be your own fresh or
groundbreaking ideas.

Simply search in Google or have a quick look inside
EzineArticles.com for your topic. Select some article topic
you like but could use some work when it comes to writing
or explanation and rewrite them in your own words.

You could also pick out a few articles that you think are
awful, and write your own counter articles disagreeing with
what has already been said.

You could even expand on some of the content by selecting
articles you think are well written by adding a few
important details of your own that you think have been left
out.

Choose Quality Products and Pre-Sell With Honesty!

If you’re on many lists you will no doubt agree that
you’ve seen many great products out there, but I’m sure you
also seen your share of some very average or downright junk
products as well.

In fact, you may have fallen victim and purchased some of
the junk products yourself. I have and I’m sure you have
to. So you no doubt know the importance of only choosing
quality products to promote to your list or visitors.

This is especially important if you’re promoting digital
products through ClickBank or a similar type processer that
traditionally makes it easy for customers to request
refunds.

Think about it. Would your conscience allow you to sell
the product you are promoting to a family member or friend?
If not, then you owe it to yourself and your potential
customers to find something better.

And while we’re on the topic of selling, it’s important
that when promoting a product or service you show
transparency and honesty at all times.

To past the truth test you need to ask yourself this
question…

…If you were face-to-face with your readers or visitors,
would you feel comfortable speaking to them about what
you’ve written in your promo email or on your website?

Now due to limitation it may not be possible to buy every
product we promote, but there’s nothing stopping you from
telling the truth about it to the best of our ability.

And if that means taking time to research the product,
digging for customer complaints and comparing it to similar
competitor products – then do it.

As an online marketer your honesty, credibility and
integrity is everything. Once you loose the respect of your
readers or visitors you will stuggle to make a cent.

You must protect the perception as others see you at all
costs, even if this means missing out on sales by cutting
down on the hype and being totally honest about a product.

It’s important that you are never shortsighted about your
future. Being successful is not about making a quick buck
promoting the latest fad.

Dont’ be sucked in to what most others are doing. Online
marketing is about helping others to achieve their own
goals by providing quality advice and service to your
potential customerss.

Any short term loss of sales in doing this will be more
than offset by your long term success.

Blogging Basics – Managing Comments!

In the last lesson we talked about moldable blogging.
In this lesson we will be discussing how you can deal with
comments that are posted on your blog.

Most blogs allow visitors to the blog to post positive or
negative comments on any of the blog posts. These comments
may pertain to the blog posting or may be completely
unrelated.

Regardless of the type of comment left by a visitor you
may choose to deal with these in a number of different ways.

For instance you may answer them, delete them or block
individual visitors  from leaving comments in the future.
You can also use administrative features of your blog to
require approval of the comments before they are posted on
the blog.

We will talk more about using administrative features in
just a minute, but first let’s start with answering the
comments that are left on your blog.

Most blogging programs allow you to post comments on your
own blog which enables you to easily answer comments
directly. With this feature you can deal with a number of
different situations including negative or positive
comments and questions.

If you receive any negative comments on your blog you may
opt to answer the comment directly with a rebuttal. This
allows you the option to recognize the criticism and defend
your original post.

When you receive positive comments you may also wish to
answer the comments to thank the visitors for letting you
know that they enjoyed your post.

Then there will be times when you receive comments that
ask a question about the blog, a specific post or even
about you. Of course you may also opt to answer these
questions so that you obtain develop a better relationship
with the readers of your blog.

Now let’s talk about blocking comments from individual
visitors.

Another option for dealing with blog comments which are
negative in nature is to block comments from individual blog
visitors.

In most cases you will have the ability to block a
particular user from leaving comments on your blog. You may
wish to use this option in situations where the comments
from the visitor are extremely vulgar or mean spirited.

Some blogging platforms will also give you the ability to
ban an individual person or IP address from ever making
comments again. This is useful if they continue to post
inappropriate comments or if you believe that the comments
are being left as spam.

Last but not least, let’s talk about using the

Another option for dealing with comments on a blog
includes using administrative features to delete comments
or modify the settings to not allow comments to be
displayed until you approve them.

Deleting these comments is usually a quite simple process,
however it is not a completely effective method because
other blog visitors may have the opportunity to read these
comments before they are deleted.

Therefore, deleting the comment may prevent some visitors
from reading the comment but will not ensure the comment is
not seen by any of you or other blog visitors.

However, there is a way for you to make sure visitors do
not read negative comments.

Most types of blogging platforms have the option allowing
you to approve all comments before they become available to
the public. This gives you the ability to delete a comment
before it is read by anyone.

Using this method gives you complete control over what is
posted on your blog as you can simply delete any comments
that you don’t want others to read before the comments are
published.

Of course there are other methods for this depending on
which blog platform you decide to use. Just do your research
and you will be sure to find a simple solution for
managing the comments that are left on your blog.
