If you are trying to build a list, and if you have a website you should be, one of the most important aspects of your site is your squeeze page.

Your squeeze page has one specific job: converting visitors to subscribers. There are a lot of factors involved when creating a high converting squeeze page, but your goal should be to get to a 50% opt-in rate or higher. This means half of the people visiting your squeeze page sign up for your offer.

Here are three quick tips to get your squeeze page converting.

1. Offer something of value.

This sounds pretty obvious but a lot of people seem to forget it. You would be surprised how many marketers hope to get opt-ins while offering outdated, low quality reports filled with affiliate links and little to no valuable information. This simply does not work. You need to offer something of value that your visitors will want. Remember, you are asking for their email address and the ability to continue to contact them, they want something in return to show you aren’t going to fill their inbox with useless emails. Your offer goes a long way in showing your subscribers what to expect from your emails. If your offer is no good, why should they expect better from your emails?

2. Use graphics to help sell your offer.

You want a professional and clean squeeze page. This is very important for increasing conversions. Adding graphics can go a long way with making your squeeze page look professional, just don’t overdo it! Look around at squeeze pages in your niche. What kinds of graphics are they using? Don’t take these graphics, but get an idea of what looks good and try to incorporated professional looking graphics into your squeeze page. This could include things like headers, arrows, bullet points, and ebook covers.

3. Be exciting.

You want your visitors to be excited about subscribing. Your offer should be exciting and valuable. Come up with a catchy title and be sure to tell them why they need to sign up for your offer. Don’t simply talk about the features of your free product or offer, talk about the problems it will solve. For example, rather than explaining your free report contains 5 ways to help eliminate back pain, talk about how after reading this report and implementing what is inside they will be able to spend more time playing with their kids or enjoying activities they have been unable to participate in because of their back pain.

4. Change the text on the submit button for your opt-in box.

For most any autoresponder the default text on the submit button will be ‘Submit.’ Change it up. Turn that button into a call to action, just begging to be clicked. Change it to something like ‘Download Now’ or ‘Send me my free report!’ It helps a lot. It emphasizes that by clicking that button they will be receiving their free gift, which makes them much more likely to do it. This simple change can drastically change your conversion rate for the better.

3 Tips to Achieve Your Online Goals!

Do you dream of the day where you have an online business
that makes you plenty of money each and every month so you
can be your own boss and do what YOU want, WHEN you want?

This is not an unrealistic dream!

You CAN create your own profitable online business – and
make it a very enjoyable experience – IF you follow these
very simple & practical tips.

Tip #1 – Find an idea that you are excited about!

This is very important. To sustain your business in the
long-term you need to enjoy what you do. The only way to do
it is to find an idea, product and niche that you feel
passionate about.

Do some research online for ideas. Type a few terms into
the search engines and see what ideas you find in your
niche. You’ll be surprised at how many great ideas there
are for you to grab and make your own.

Tip #2 – You need to invest time AND money!

You must realize that you will need to invest some capital
into your online venture. This will be in the way of time
AND money.

Some things in life just aren’t free and this is one of
them. You need to start with some level of money to achieve
your outcome.

If you have more time than money, that’s fine. In the
beginning you can save money by doing most of the stuff you
need to do yourself. If you use the time you have wisely,
you will be rewarded over and over again.

The important thing to do is to sit down and work out a
comfortable budget of time and money… and then stick to
it.

If you can only afford to spend a fifty dollars per month
and a few hours per day on your online business, then do
some research to develop a plan BEFORE you get started.

Tip #3 – It will take time!

You need to understand that you will not start making your
fortune overnight. Yes there are some that do, but this is
not normal.

Do not try to take shortcuts because you think you can
have an easier path to faster profits. This will lead to
your downfall.

You need to understand and accept right from the start
that it may take several months, maybe much longer, before
you start showing any real profit.

You need to be patient and consistant. Don’t skip from one
scheme to another. Develop a step-by-step plan that is
right for you and follow it to the letter.

If you follow these tips, have faith and stick to your
plan and you will be handsomely rewarded for your efforts.

5-Step Plan – Selecting the Right Affiliate Networks!

In the last lesson we finalized Step #1 of your step-by-
step profit plan. Today we move on to Step #2, which is
to sign up with one or more affiliate networks.

Now first off you need to find the right affiliate
programs that have products that are relevent to your
selected niches.

In doing this you have two options…

You can either sign up with independent affiliate programs
or sign up with an affiliate network.

Independent programs are good but as a rule they only have
a single product that you can promote.

Your most beneficial option is to sign-up to an affiliate
network as this will give you access to MULTIPLE merchants
that have relevant products targeting your niche.

Having all of your merchants separate can result in a lot
of headaches and problems later on down the road. For
example, it may take you a while to start getting paid by
them.

This is because it may take you some time to generate
enough sales to meet the minimum payout requirements. Plus,
if that merchant does not have specific types of products,
then you’ll need to go find additional merchants.

If that merchant drops a particular line of products,
you’ll have the same problem. And if that merchant goes
away for whatever reason, you’ll find yourself stuck
without products to sell until you found a merchant
replacement.

By signing up with an affiliate network on the other hand,
you can generally find at least three merchants to supply
the products you need for your particular niche.

You also get the benefit of lower minimum payout amounts,
automated payment such as direct deposit to your bank
account, and the combined power of the sales you’re making
from all the merchants you belong to.

There are several large affiliate networks you can sign up
for. The best two that I recommend are Share a Sale and
Commission Junction.

Commission Junction is quite possibly the largest
affiliate network out there. It has thousands of merchants
and many of them are very well known names.

Commission Junction will send you your affiliate
commission payments each month that you’ve earned $25 or
more, and they also have a direct deposit option, which
makes receiving your funds much faster.

Share a Sale is considered a new affiliate network even
though it has been around for several years. It is a
smaller network and it has many smaller merchants.

Share a Sale is very popular because they are considered
to be more affiliate friendly than any other network. There
are also easier to get set up with, and they have some
great affiliate marketing tools.

Link share is another fairly large affiliate network that
some affiliates like to work with, and of course Amazon or
eBay are quite popular as well.

Amazon or eBay have almost everything for sale. Just be
sure to check that you can earn commissions as an affiliate
with them for the products you want to promote.

Once you’ve selected one or more affiliate networks to

Traffic Basics – The Importance of Referrer Logs!

In the last lesson we talked about submitting your site to
the search engines. Today we are going to go over the
importance of referrer logs.

Referrer logging is used to allow web servers and websites
to identify where people are visiting them either for
promotional or security purposes.

Your referrer logs can determine which search engine your
visitors used to find your site and/or whether they come
from a ‘linked site’.

(Note: A ‘linked site’ is basically the URL of the
previous webpage from which your link was followed)

By default most hosting accounts include referrer logs. If
your web host does not provide a graphic report of your log
files, you can still view your referrer logs by logging
into the host server using free or low cost FTP software
such as these:

You can use a log analysis tool like those mentioned below
to create a graphic report from your log files so that the

In addition to identifying the search engine or the site
from where your visitor arrived, referrer logs can also
tell you what keywords or keyword phrases that your
visitors used to find your site.

You will find that once you are able to track the efforts
of all your SEO, advertising, affliate promotions, etc, you
will be able to figure out which ones are working the best
for you.

This way you can focus on improving the promotions that
are working and dumping those that arenn’t to try to
maximize your profits.

How to Create Multiple Niche Membership Sites!

Membership sites work very very well online. The internet
is practically tailor-made for it because it makes managing
a subscription site very easy.

In fact, in many markets people are very happy to pay you
every month for years.

Membership sites are one of the best ways to build
consistant income into your business because you make a one-
time sale and then that customer can continue to pay you
every month.

And NO, you don’t need to be an expert to start you’re own
membership site. All you need to do is to know where to
find the information that your potential customers are
interested in.

For example, the fitness niche is a huge market and people
are willing to pay monthly fees if they can get regular

Promoting Tangible Products – 5-Step Plan!

In the last lesson we talk about the benefits of promoting
tangible (physical) products and how this can convert into
sizeable profits.

Over the next series of lessons we’re going to be focusing
on a 5-step *no cost* plan that will show you how to
perform the following steps to setup your system:

1. Identify a profitable niche
2. How to select a network
3. How to select your merchants
4. Creating your site
5. Writing your content.

But before we start we feel compelled to mention the
obvious…

…nothing works the exact same way for everyone!

There are many ways to change this particular plan and add
your own variations to it. Everyone has different levels of
knowledge and experience, and because of this results will
vary from one person to another.

When selling anything online, results will also vary from
one niche to another. So this is a basic step by step plan
to help get you started.

This plan WILL work, regardless of what niche market you
choose to target, however your results will depend on how
much effort you put in setting this up.

Step 1:
Select Your Niche

The very first step is to choose the niche market you want
to target. How you select your particular niche is up to
you.

Some people prefer to select products that they themselves
buy. Others prefer to select products in a niche that they
know many people buy from.

Ideally what you need to look for is a niche market that
has:

1. Longevity
2. High demand
3. Profitability

In the next lesson we will continue with Step #1 by
discussing in detail each of the above criteria prior to
moving onto Step #2.

Traffic Basics – Keyword Density!

In the last lesson we talked about why search engines are
so important to the success of your business. In today’s
lesson we’re going to go over the importance of keyword
density.

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the
selected keyword appears on a web page. Keywords shouldn’t
be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to
appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every
line, your site will probably be rejected as possible spam
site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the
total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including
HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a
certain keyword for five times in the content.

The keyword density on that page is obtained by simply
dividing the total number of keywords by the total number
of words that appear on your web page.

In the above example it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because
keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on
the page, multiply the above by 100 to get result in terms
of percentage, ie 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3%
and 5% to get recognized by the search engines and this
rule applies to every page on your site.

However, while you should always to try to aim for a
keyword density between 3% and 5%, this is only a rule of
thumb and there may be occassions where more than 5% is
acceptable.

Only trial and error will determine what works best for
your pages.

Here are some simple steps to check the density of your
content:

- Copy and paste the content from an individual web page
into a word-processing software program, such as Word or
something similar.

- Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to
the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the
total number of words in the page.

- Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to
the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find.
Replace that word with the same word, so you don’t change
the text.

- When you complete the replace function, the system will
provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the
number of times you have used the keyword in that page.

- Using the total word count for the page and the total
number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword
density.

To achieve the best results it is important to have the
first 250 words of your copy keyword rich.

A good tip is to write your content about your chosen
topic first, then choose your keywords and/or keyword
phrases from the content.

Then rewrite your content as needed, adding keywords
and/or keyword phrases that pertain to the theme of the
content.

This way you’ve chosen keywords and/or keyword phrases
that are relevant to your content, instead of trying to
write content to fit your keywords and/or keyword phrases.
